Do I pay to start the 90-day Premium trial?
No — Premium is free for 90 days and you're not charged before the trial ends. A payment method is collected up front so your subscription continues seamlessly, and you can cancel anytime from your account. You keep your account, pantry, meal plans and household history whatever you choose.
Why are Launch prices lower than future prices?
Because early subscribers are helping us improve MealSave while we keep making it smarter. Subscribe during our launch period and you keep your introductory subscription price for as long as your subscription remains active.
Which supermarkets are supported?
MealSave supports Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Lidl, ALDI, Dirk, Picnic, PLUS and DekaMarkt in the Netherlands. You choose your supermarkets, and MealSave plans within that selection and your shopping method. In MealSave, Lidl, ALDI, Dirk, PLUS and DekaMarkt support in-store shopping; Picnic supports delivery. Albert Heijn and Jumbo support in-store shopping, delivery and pickup. MealSave helps you decide where to shop—it does not place orders.
How accurate are the prices?
MealSave uses confirmed supermarket product prices where usable observations are available, giving your shopping plan a stronger basis than generic estimates alone. Automatic updates for supported observed prices are scheduled twice daily—not in real time. Some products and supermarkets still use clearly labelled estimates. When neither a usable observed price nor an estimate is available, the price is marked unavailable, never free. Shopping calculations account for whole packs, not just the amount used in a recipe. If prices are missing, a partial amount is not the full basket cost. Prices and promotions can change, and MealSave does not see live stock, so the supermarket's final checkout price may differ.
Is MealSave just a meal planner?
No. MealSave plans meals and groceries together. It considers your household's preferences, what you already have, ingredients that can be used across the week, the packs you need to buy and prices at your chosen supermarkets. Instead of choosing recipes first and working out the shopping afterwards, you get a week designed to work together—with less planning and fewer unnecessary purchases.
Does MealSave adapt to my household's preferences?
Yes. MealSave uses your food preferences, dislikes, pantry and planning choices to make meals and groceries fit your household. Choices such as “suggest this less often” or “never suggest this” affect future suggestions, while repeated meal swaps and changes to your grocery list can gently influence replacement suggestions. You stay in control of your preferences and supermarket selection. Some learned preferences are saved on the device you use; MealSave does not receive verified purchases or receipts from supermarkets.
Why does text sometimes look too large or overlap on my phone?
MealSave responds to your phone's text-size settings. If text appears too large or doesn't fit properly, you can adjust the font size or display zoom in your phone's settings. On Android, this is usually under Settings → Display → Font size and style. On iPhone, you can find text size under Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size. Choose the setting that's most comfortable for you.
